Archbishop John Du Touches The Hearts of Ormoc CJ Residents


SHEPHERD AND FLOCK. The Archbishop of Palo, Most Reverend John F. Du, DD celebrated the Holy Eucharist inside the Ormoc City Jail – Male Dorm last December 28, 2016, as part of the Inmates Christmas Party. This activity was organized by the Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Commission on Social Action and Prison Ministry, with the theme; "IKAW, AKO, KITA USA KA PAROKYA." On his homily he encouraged all the residents not to lose hope, to pray for their freedom and ask for forgiveness of sins. He also reminded the jail residents that "God loves them and God never forsake them." After the mass he visited the sick inmates inside their cells, sprinkled holy water to the residents, and distributed hygienic supplies to inmates. The inmates were very thankful and feel blessed with his presence.

Also in attendance were Rev. Fr. Isagani P. Petilos, Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Priest and Rev. Fr. Armando R. Dagsa the Volunteers in Prison Service Spiritual Director of Archdiocese of Palo, and other active member's religious groups.
