In the celebration of love this month of February, several line of activities had been conducted simultaneously to all BJMP manned jails. I have witnessed a lot being posted to social media how our residents had been given the opportunity to express in different ways their love to their loved ones and the personnel manning them. Truly, love is in the air even at the detention facility.
The Burauen District Jail thru this unit Inmates Welfare & Development Office, JO1 Athena D Apordo, Community Relations Officer, JO2 Victor C Arias Jr and Jail Warden, SJO3 Primo D Paloma Jr did not deny our residents the chance to feel the love month. On Valentine's Day, 14 February 2017 a couples' day were celebrated where every residents were visited by their partners and family. Further a mini photo studio was prepared to serve as souvenir photo on that occasion which is open to all our residents and their loved ones. JO2 Arias served as the official photographer capturing various stance preferred by them and it really added sweet moment for our couples and residents.
Further, before the month ended last 28 February 2017, one of our residents Niño Lumba y Bioc attended the Kasalan ng Bayan held at the Burauen Community Center thru a court order secured from the RTC Br.15. He was one among one hundred two (102) couples who were solemnized with their common law wives by the Hon. Juanito E. Renomeron, Municipal Mayor. The celebration was indeed part of the Civil Registration Month celebration in partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority thru Dir. Wilma A. Perante, OIC- Regional Director, PSA RSSO 8, Ms. Sheryl Ann A. Jamisola, OIC-PSO, Philippine Statistics Authority, with this years' theme: "Pilipinong Registrado, Matatag na Kinabukasan ay Sigurado". The partner for five years, Mr. Niño Lumba and Mrs. Elizel Sayahan finally tied their knots witnessed by this unit personnel, JO1 Apordo, IWD, JO2 Arias, CRS and SJO3 Palama Jr, Jail Warden. They are now officially Mr. & Mrs. Lumba thru the support of our personnel and the LGU of Burauen. Activity ended 1700H on that day and it was one of the events rarely occurring within our care.
