a jail officer donates blood

In line with the efforts of the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) to serve more patients especially in this time of the pandemic, the BJMP Regional Office VIII in partnership with The Fraternal Order of Eagles (Philippine Eagles) Eastern Visayas Eagles Region led by EVER Governor Eagle Salvador “Buddy” Estudillo and Tacloban Eagles District led by DG Eagle Ahlyx Belleza , conducted a bloodletting activity last November 21, 2020, at Sto. Nino SPED Center, Tacloban City. Themed as “Dugo ng Agila,” this aimed to help solve the depleting blood supply in the hospital and campaign for donors’ health benefits on lowering the risk for heart disease.

Seven (7) personnel from the BJMP Regional Office VIII showed their willingness to save lives, namely, JINSP LOURDES C NOVEDA, SJO1 Michael N Cuanico, JO3 Ruperto Corton Jr, JO3 Francis Tapacion, JO1 Madelyn L Mas, JO1 Mary Sheene Peralta, and JO1 Querubin R Riel. The volunteers underwent a medical assessment to check if they were qualified to donate blood. After experiencing the bloodletting, the medical staff assured the volunteers’ safe condition by giving them snacks and assisted in following the do’s and bloodletting dont’s. Successful blood donors left the venue with a blood donor card from the EVRMC and a happy heart to help save lives through their blood donation.

The EVRMC blood bank is consistent in its need for blood to sustain the quality of blood supply to provide patients’ blood to save lives. The work and effort of the organization- Fraternal Order of Eagles and the volunteers are highly commendable. They are our modern HEROES who have done service to our nation and our cause by donating blood.***
