The Ormoc City Philippine National Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) /K9 team recently conducted a comprehensive lecture for personnel of Ormoc City Jail Female Dormitory and male dormitory, focusing on Bomb Identification Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), and response procedure. The five (5) hour training session aimed to equip the jail personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to identify and respond to potential explosive threats within the correctional facility.
The EOD team headed by PEMS Reynante M Carba presented a detailed overview of bomb identification, including the composition and characteristics of various explosive devices. The personnel were shown various display of IED to facilitate easy identification. The lecture also covered response procedure in the event of an explosive threat, emphasizing the importance of swift and effective action to ensure the safety of Persons Deprived of Liberty, staff and visitors.
The lecture is crucial in enhancing the safety and security of the Ormoc City Jail Female Dormitory. By equipping personnel with the necessary knowledge and skill, the training enables us to respond effectively to potential explosive threats, protecting the lives of PDL, staff and visitors.
