R.I.L.L Na Pagmamalasakit Sa Loob Ng Piitan Launched

On July 25, 2025, at exactly 1300H, the Acting Jail Warden and the Chief Welfare and Development Officer of Sogod District Jail led the formal relaunch and rebranding of the BJMP’s existing welfare and development initiative now known as “R.I.L.L. na Pagmamalasakit sa Loob ng Piitan”. A total of 34 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) participated in the activity held within the facility.

RILL, which stands for Reintegration, Informed Journey, Learning, and Livelihood, is a long-standing program of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) focused on the holistic development and rehabilitation of PDL.

Under the new leadership of the Regional Director of BJMP Regional Office VIII, the program was given a refreshed identity—“RILL na Malasakit, RILL na Totoo”—as a unified branding for all PDL-centered welfare and development programs across the region.

The Acting Jail Warden opened the program by emphasizing the importance of continuity and innovation in PDL rehabilitation. He commended the Regional Director’s effort to give a stronger identity to existing initiatives while reinforcing the commitment to genuine service and reformation. He also explaining that while the core components remain the same, the enhanced branding reflects renewed direction, improved delivery, and a stronger emphasis on compassion, reintegration, and productivity.

The event concluded at approximately 1430H with words of encouragement from the Chief Unit WDO SJO1 Jeun R Cantoria, followed by a group photo with the participants. Jail personnel also hang the tarpaulin outside the jail facility.
